I have over seven years’ experience as an editor and proofreader. I work with all fiction genres. I am happy to offer low-cost, high-quality proofreading and editing to authors. I can work in US English or UK English. On average, I charge $0.007/£0.005 a word for editing (content and developmental), and $0.006/£0.004 a word for proofreading (can negotiate based on length), but I work on a sliding scale, and I’m willing to offer payment plans for exceptional circumstances. Please note conversions are based on current dollar to pound amounts.

I edit/proofread the first 1000 words for free for new clients. I will read your manuscript twice–sending it back to you in between so you can make changes. I can also offer an editing read and then a proofreading read, as this is something authors seem to be interested in.

For new clients, half of the cost is payable up front via PayPal or bank transfer, and the other half on the completion of the first round of edits/proofs. For reoccurring clients, unless discussed, payment is due up front.
